Building healthier lives together
Nourish & Connect is a community-based programme supporting people across Mid Ulster to build healthier lifestyles while strengthening connections within their communities. The programme offers a range of engaging, practical workshops designed to promote healthier living and wellbeing.
Participants will take part in hands-on learning experiences, including understanding nutrition, making informed food choices, and preparing healthy meals on a budget. The programme also explores simple ways to grow your own food, alongside a visit to a local farm or grower—providing valuable insight into where food comes from, the importance of local produce, and sustainable food practices.
Alongside practical food skills, participants will engage in activities that support overall health and wellbeing, such as stress management and gentle exercise, all delivered in a relaxed and inclusive environment. The programme also provides opportunities to meet new people, connect with others from different backgrounds, and build meaningful relationships through shared experiences.
Workshops include:
- Healthy Eating – Learn how to prepare nutritious, affordable meals
- Budgeting & Smart Food Shopping – Make your food budget go further
- Understanding Food Labels – Learn how to read and understand what’s in your food
- Nutrition & Health – Explore how food supports your overall wellbeing
- Growing Your Own Food – Discover simple ways to grow fresh produce at home
- Health & Wellbeing Activities – Take part in light exercise and wellbeing sessions
The programme is delivered in 8-week cycles at a range of venues across Mid Ulster.
