Labour Market Partnership Programmes

We’re delighted to deliver three exciting new Labour Market Partnership projects in the Mid Ulster region.

The projects are funded by the Department for Communities and have been designed to meet the local employability needs, identified in Mid Ulster District Council’s local Action Plan 2023/24.

In partnership with Mid Ulster District Council, we will support a combined total of 60 local residents (until 31st March 2024) in accessing industry-specific training, as well as securing work experience and employment opportunities.

Network Personnel’s 3 LMP projects are as follows:

The Employer Led Disability Inclusion Programme will engage with a number of prominent Mid Ulster employers to identify their recruitment needs and to educate them on the benefits of recruiting a diverse and inclusive workforce. 20 local participants with disabilities or long-term health conditions will be ‘matched’ to employers, with the goal of securing meaningful and sustainable work. Training and access to relevant grants/supports will be facilitated by Network Personnel.

The Tourism & Hospitality Academy will offer 20 local residents the opportunity to complete a level 2 qualification in Tour Guiding, as well as to enhance their skills in a range of disciplines which are relevant to the needs of local hospitality employers – e.g. barista and bar training, customer service and food hygiene. Again, the main objective of this project will be to enhance employment prospects  and secure work for participants.

The Health & Social Care / Classroom Assistant Academy will connect 20 individuals with local employers, securing work tasters/experience opportunities and employment. This academy has been co-designed/endorsed by regional health trusts and education establishments, with a view to connecting participants with the multiple vacancies which are currently available in the Mid Ulster region.  Participants will receive training in a range of relevant subjects such as safeguarding, first aid and manual handling.

In addition to the above, all three projects will provide employability support, advice and guidance (via one to one mentoring and group workshops) to participants.
