Job Fair Highlights Great Opportunities in Ballymena

Our recent Job Fair held in the Tullyglass House Hotel, Ballymena was a great success all around. Over 200 job seekers attended the event to see what was on offer from more than 40 employers and support organisations from the local area.

The attending employers including Camden Group, J&K Coaches, Crossroads Care, Noonans, Applegreen and O2, had a wide range of current vacancies with some filling vacancies on the day.

Employers were delighted with the success of the event. Tanya Macdonald, Robsinson Services, commented “The event was absolutely fantastic, I have filled a number of our vacancies from attending the Job Fair. There was great footfall and everything was really well organised both before and during the event.”

Andrew McKeenan, Moy Park, added “The Job Fair was a great success, we have spoken with some top-quality, potential recruits for our growing business.”

There was also a great presence from local support organisations with details on the training, support and services they can offer local people. The Hope Centre, Disability Action, The Now Group, Action on Hearing Loss, Start 360 and Volunteer Now, to name a few, all attended on the day.

Necole Donaghy, Network Personnel, said “We were delighted with the turnout at the event and hope that attendees found it valuable. There is a wealth of jobs and Apprenticeship opportunities, support and free training available in the Ballymena area and this Job Fair gave us the opportunity to offer everything under one roof allowing local people to access these great opportunities.”

Our own staff were also there on the day providing information on the various programmes we offer with free training access and one-to-one support to find employment, as well as details about our Apprenticeship programme and our Network Shed workshops.

We would like to thank all the employers, support organisations and agencies who attended the Job Fair and everyone who came along to the event, including the local Mayor.  It was very promising to see so many job, support and training opportunities in the Ballymena area.
