Jobmatch Participant Success Stories

Jobmatch Participant Success Stories

We specialise in helping unemployed people develop the skills required to find employment.  Below are examples of the support we have provided for participants through our Jobmatch programme:

Beatrice, Carrickfergus

Beatrice has been unemployed for 7 years since losing her job as a kitchen assistant in a local hotel. She has low self-esteem and lacks confidence in herself.  She also has a lack of qualifications after attending non-mainstream education. Her barriers to employment would be:

  • Literacy / Numeracy
  • Self Confidence
  • Lack of qualifications
  • Lack of experience outside of supported employment
  • Lack of skills in applying for work, updating CV’s and preparing for interviews

Support offered through Jobmatch:

Through a series of one-one coaching and tutoring Beatrice has now completed a Level 1 qualification in Progression to Employment and has achieved her Level 1 Basic Food Hygiene certificate.  She has an updated CV and is more confident in applying for jobs using the Jobcentre application form.  Beatrice is also waiting to hear if her recent interview with a local employer for the post of dishwasher was successful.

Frances, Antrim

Frances is 62 and has been unemployed for 6 years. Before Frances became unemployed she worked as a Cleaner for 4 years.

Support offered through Jobmatch:

Frances felt that not having an up-to-date CV alongside having no qualifications would cause barriers to finding employment. Frances worked closely with her Employment Coach to overcome these barriers to employment – together they compiled an up-to-date CV and Frances achieved Level 1 qualifications in First Aid and Health & Safety in the Workplace.  Frances has now moved to the Steps 2 Success programme where she will continue to receive support from Network Personnel in her journey towards employment.

If you are unemployed and would like to find out more about the support we can offer call 028 7963 1032 or email info@networkpersonnel.org.uk.

This project is part funded through the Northern Ireland European Social Fund Programme 2014-2020 and the Department for the Economy
