Antrim Jobs & Career Fair Success

Antrim Jobs & Career Fair Success

We were overwhelmed by the crowds which gathered on Thursday 28th March at Antrim Forum for our Antrim and Newtownabbey Jobs and Careers Fair. In partnership with Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council and Department for Communities (DfC) the event attracted over 80 employers and support organisations and advertised over 1000 job vacancies.

Each of the employers were on hand to showcase current employment opportunities and career pathways to job seekers as well as those who were wanting advice on career progression. A number of Google Digital Garage Workshops were also available throughout the day, free of charge, to help improve job skills. Aimed specifically at those with sensory or learning difficulties, an inclusive hour was also available in the morning.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Paul Michael commented; “I am delighted the Council is working in partnership with the Department for Communities (DfC) and Network Personnel on what has been a truly successful event. With over 1000 jobs on offer from over 80 employers and support organisations, we have a wealth of career opportunities to inspire future generations of employees.”

Georgina Grieve, General Manager of Network Personnel added; “We are delighted with the success of today’s event. The range of job and career opportunities on offer has been well received by all attendees and no doubt will have a lasting impact on the local community.”
